For example, the 'Automatic cutter shape and measuring range detection', the navigation system »compass«, the 'Projector function and cutting edge inspection' and »cris360°« (circular-response-image-sampling) to determine real and active dimensions on tools. With measuring program 28 'Radius contour', ZOLLER provides a software solution that automatically determines full radii and corner radii and that graphically evaluates the full range of contour characteristics on the cutting blade. This involves dividing the contour into individual measuring points and calculating an average value for the actual radius. The radius is measured precisely and is evaluated across all angle segments. It is now possible to enter an additional angle of inclination. This is an advantage for die tools, and it automatically enables the correct tangent point on the radius to be included in the evaluation.

The new ZOLLER software module for wear measurements finally enables economical regrinding processes. This new 'regrinding mode' in the measuring device software »pomSoft« now enables the universal tool inspection device »pomBasic« to be used as a 'digital slide gauge' for all wear measurements on machining tools. Before the grinding process, the tools are inspected and measured to establish the extent of mechanical wear, wear features are assigned to the appropriate pallet location, and this then serves as a machining datum point for the subsequent regrinding process. The data are transmitted directly to the machine control unit and only the actual wear characteristics are reground!

With the new version 1.15 of ZOLLER TMS Tool Management Solutions, consistent compiling of inventories is now possible, right down to the level of individual components. Tools and individual components can be represented individually and detailed information can be saved and traced along the entire production process. This unique identification of components, with reference to the serial number, facilitates real transparency in the Tools department, and lays the foundation for systematic Tool Management and for smart factory.
