ANFOTEC produces industrial and mechanical drive ele- ments for semiconductor equipment, tooling machines, and measuring technology in Medebach in the Sauerland region of Germany. Most of these high-quality components are produced as series parts and are made of aluminum and gray cast iron. Prototypes are also in demand. The company’s clients expect high levels of precision and dy- namism. Thanks to its ongoing growth, it has had to both move to larger facilities and optimize and accelerate its processes. That’s why ANFOTEC started by investing in a ZOLLER »venturion« presetting and measuring machine for external tool presetting, then invested in ZOLLER tool management software to go with it. CEO Christian Hast describes the initial situation: “In the past, every technician was doing their own thing when it came to tools. As the number of machines grew this became less efficient and more expensive, particularly for cost-intensive tools.” Project Manager Michael Schnellen continues: “We wanted to get the tools away from the machines and eliminate tool storage problems.” At the same time, the company wanted to ensure efficient tool management to give an overview of exact tool inventories and locations, avoiding multiple re-orders.
