VISITING TEBIS IN PORTUGAL CAD/CM supplier Tebis has been partnering with ZOLLER for quite some time. ZOLLER took part in an open-house event at Tebis in Portugal. Also along for the ride: The »venturion 450«, so that potential buyers could observe the smooth interactions between the CAM and presetter station in the production process. ENORMOUS TIME SAVINGS With the »smile 420«, MRT Castings saves around 15 minu­ tes during every conversion process – productivity at the company, which is located in Hampshire, GB, has grown accordingly. Managing Director Phil Rawnson explains: “There was an immediate effect, because the machines keep running while tools are being set. By connecting the presetter to the CNC machine, we don’t need to manually transmit any data. The »smile« is also unbelievably simple to operate. Now we have perfect production, even with a batch size of 1 – scrap is a thing of the past.” THE LAST TOUCH Once again, there was plenty going on at GrindTec, the world’s largest exhibition for grinding technology – espe- cially at the ZOLLER stand. No wonder – with two robots, 15 setting and universal measuring machines, and smart cabinets, we had plenty of products on offer.
