The first automation solutions were launched on the market in 2002. These were the “roboToSet-Commander,” the first automated heat shrinking machine, and the “genius SX,” consisting of two genius measuring machines, one of which took on measurements and the other tool delivery.

Today, ZOLLER offers automation solutions for fully automated measurement, labeling, cleaning, and delivery of tools. Especially for companies with high tool throughput, using such automation solutions offers enormous time and cost savings. The company will be presenting »roboSet 2« at Motek, an automation solution for 24/7 tool check, as well as »roboSet« in combination with the machine »redomatic« for fully automated shrinking and unclamping and tool delivery and the new collaborative robot »cora« (collaborative robotic assistant), as a “new, supportive colleague” in the tool room.
»roboSet 2« - the 24/7 Tool Check
»roboSet«, the smart automation solution for tool measurement, and the »roboSet 2« version are highly compact and designed to be space-saving. In addition, it is linked to universal measuring machines »genius« or »titan«, and can also include a laser and ultrasound cleaning system if desired. Thanks to a multi-pallet system which provides higher tool inventories, this smart automation solution can handle large series in quality controlling or production fully automatically, and is fast and safe thanks to a double gripper.
NEW: Your New Colleague in the Tool Room
ZOLLER now offers a new collaborative robot named »cora«, which can be used as a supporting automation solution in the tool room. It allows tools to be picked, assembled, measured, implemented, and sorted by condition fully automatically. The robot is connected to ZOLLER software and to the z.One central tool database, which guarantees error-free processes by ensuring data consistency throughout the entire production process, as well as transparency regarding all tool inventories at all times. In addition, the robot can also be connected to ERP systems.
Live at MOTEK, the company will be presenting its new “colleague in the tool room,” integrated into the following example process: The robot processes all outstanding tool delivery orders through a fully automated procedure. It independently opens the ZOLLER »keeper« tool cabinet and starts to remove the relevant complete tool and place it in the presetting and measuring machine. After the measurement, the robot removes the complete tool and places it in the tool trolley – safely and reliably. Employees are informed by a visual signal when the order is complete and the tool trolley can be exchanged.
