Smart Factory: center of customer communication
The Smart Factory in Pleidelsheim, which was completed in the anniversary year 2020, is a modern customer center with an academy and showroom, where the digital possibilities for addressing customers have been consistently integrated. Media technology for live streams and online meetings allows virtual access to all seminar rooms, the showroom area and detailed views of what is happening on the equipment, machines and workstations. This customer communication center was completed at just the right time, according to Managing Director Christoph Zoller: "We have always been in intensive exchange with our customers in order to be close to the developments and requirements of our target industries and to be able to approach solutions together pragmatically. Trade fairs have always played a major role in this. The year 2020, when we moved into our new building and celebrated our 75th company anniversary, then brought major changes to which we responded with the "75LIVE" format, among other things. Our new digital format for livestream trade shows, coupled with live product presentations and training, has since attracted over 1500 visitors. To conclude the series, we are now adding a highlight with the partner trade show."
ZOLLER will kick off the 3-day series of live streams with the grinding machine manufacturer ANCA. In the grinding technology area of the Smart Factory, the respective experts will present the highlights of the solutions for tool manufacturers and grinders. The LIVE demo with the ANCA FX5 Linear grinding center will include safe and precise measurement of tools, inspection of complex tool geometries, high-precision measurement of cutting edge preparation, and acquisition of relevant data for the grinding program and efficient management of grinding wheel packages. Jointly developed interface solutions enable users to simplify and improve tool, wheel and form measurement and compensation processes. Automatic communication between the grinding machine and the measuring technology creates the basis for successful automation in tool production.
On June 16, parts manufacturers will get their money's worth. In the milling technology area of the Smart Factory, ZOLLER, together with the specialists from CHIRON, will open up the potential of integrated tool management. From work preparation to network-based data transmission – for example with the ZOLLER communication platform "zidCode" – to automated tool handling, the partners will jointly demonstrate the added value of the availability of tool data in real time and the integration of intelligent software and hardware solutions. Using the example of the flexible 5-axis machining center, tool identification and data transfer, simulation solutions and flexible modules for automated tool handling will be demonstrated.
Finally, the Smart Factory will focus on the link with the powerful CAM solutions of OPEN MIND's hyperMILL software. A central component of tool-side productivity optimization is the interaction of high-performance programming and simulation software with ZOLLER-TMS software and hardware as well as metrology and automation. External systems for data import and procurement also allow the provision of a wide range of production-relevant data for simpler, faster and more economical work. Participants will learn about numerous examples of these efficiency measures during the process tour, whether at the CAM workstation, the tool store, the setting and measuring devices or the processing machine.
