64 Z.magazine 2019 I N FOCUS AUTOMATIC TOOL CLEANING AND LABELING To be certain during automated measurement that dirt particles are not being measured as well, ultrasound cleaning can be completed before the measuring procedure. The robot dips the tool into the ultrasound bath, removing any chips on the tool. Thanks to the oil separator integrated into the bath, the tool is removed from the bath clean and without any deposits – ready for measurement. Frequently, tools are labeled using a laser for later identification. This station can also be integrated into the production process. After tool inspection, the robot positions the measured too under the laser’s focal point. They can then even be labeled with previously calculated measured values, which are already available. Plenty of space: Up to 1,800 tools can be housed on eight pallets on two levels, sorted according to their condition. Automatic labeling: »roboMark« is used to directly label tools measured by »roboSet 2«, if necessary even with the measured data that was just generated.
